Summary: The Doctor takes Nyssa to a magnificent coronation, but didn't expect it to be a reprise of Jo's wedding. Stranded in the most elegant and advanced society she's seen since she's left Traken, Nyssa must draw on her aristocratic upbringing to navigate a web of intrigue and masks. The Doctor, meanwhile, must learn what will make him turn back and defy the Web of Time.

Notes: The premise of this story is, "What happens when the Doctor thinks he's in a companion exit story, but the companion thinks they're in one of their ongoing adventures?" Also, I wanted to explore the Fifth Doctor working through stages of loss after a companion's departure, which hasn't happened on TV or Big Finish despite the fact that he's lost Adric, Nyssa, and Tegan in heartbreaking ways. Finally, I wanted to subvert fairy tale tropes (in this case Cinderella) with all the gusto of Utena. ;)

Tiptoeing around temporal paradoxes means she can't let the Doctor find out. It's a good thing she has a friend like Tegan to rely on.
